What is multi-class?
Multi-class is open to athletes with a physical, intellectual or vision impairment. Athletes are required to submit medical reports and meet the minimum impairment criteria in order to compete. Little Athletics Victoria provides inclusive opportunities for athletes with physical, intellectual, and/or vision impairments. Ranging from local Centre competition through to state level championships, multi-class athletes have opportunities to participate in each of the 100m, 200m, 400m, long jump, discus, shot put, 4x100m and 4x200m relay events.

Athletes do not need a classification to participate at club level but need a provisional classification to compete up to State level and a national classification to compete at National levels.

How do we support multi-class athletes at Essendon Little Athletics Centre?
We can work directly with parents of multi-class parents in regard to specific needs/modifications as this will vary from person to person. Support is available to adapt our program to suit specific needs whilst maintaining a safe and accessible program for all athletes/officials and volunteers.  Please reach out with any questions and one of our committee members will be happy to help.
