Everything Parents Need to Know

Parents and carers play an important role in making Little Athletics a positive experience.  Whether you're attending your first competition or have been involved for years, we're here to help your family enjoy every Saturday morning.

What to Bring

For a comfortable morning at the track, we recommend bringing:

  • Club uniform
  • Running shoes
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Weather-appropriate clothing
  • Healthy snacks

 

We have the BBQ going every Saturday morning during the Track & Field season and coffee van on site.

Supporting Your Child

Little Athletics is about much more than winning.  Every child develops at their own pace, and every achievement deserves recognition.  The most valuable encouragement comes from celebrating:

  • Trying their best
  • Learning new skills
  • Improving personal bests
  • Showing resilience
  • Supporting teammates

Behaviour Expectations

We ask all families to help us maintain a welcoming, respectful environment.  Please:

  • Encourage all athletes.
  • Respect officials and volunteers.
  • Support positive sportsmanship.
  • Follow the directions of Age Group Managers and event officials.
  • Help create an inclusive environment where every child feels they belong.

Children learn by watching the adults around them, and positive behaviour helps make ELAC a great place for everyone.

Safety First

The safety and wellbeing of every athlete is our highest priority.  Please help by:

  • Supervising younger children when not competing.
  • Ensuring athletes remain hydrated.
  • Following event safety instructions.
  • Advising Age Group Managers of any medical concerns.
  • Reporting hazards or incidents to committee members.
