Where It All Began
Essendon Little Athletics Club is one of Melbourne's long-standing Little Athletics centres, proudly serving families across Aberfeldie and the surrounding suburbs.
Founded in 1970, ELAC was established to provide children in the Essendon and surrounding communities with the opportunity to enjoy athletics in a fun, supportive and family-focused environment.
What began as a small group of passionate volunteers has grown into one of Victoria's vibrant Little Athletics centres, welcoming hundreds of young athletes each year.
While our club has continued to evolve, our purpose has remained the same: To help every child discover the joy of being active.
Growing Together
Over the years, ELAC has celebrated countless achievements. We've seen athletes represent Victoria and Australia, volunteers dedicate decades of service and generations of families return with their own children.
Some of our athletes have gone on to compete at the highest levels of athletics. Many more simply remember ELAC as the place where they built confidence, made lifelong friends and discovered a love of sport. Both stories are equally important to us.
