What Are PB Medals?

PB (Personal Best) medals are an important part of the Little Athletics experience at Essendon. They recognise athletes who consistently improve their performance in events such as sprints, long jump, shot put, and more.

Each time an athlete achieves a new personal best in an event, it’s recorded in ResultsHQ with a yellow star. Throughout the season, athletes are awarded medals based on the number of PBs they’ve achieved throughout the year – a bronze medal when athletes achieve 7 PBs, a silver medal when they achieve 14 PBs and a gold medal when they achieve 21 PBs.

  • PB medals celebrate personal growth rather than just winning
  • They encourage athletes to focus on improving their own performance, not just competing against others
  • They’re great motivators for young athletes of all abilities and experience levels

It’s not about being the fastest or strongest—it’s about doing better than you did last week. That’s the spirit of Little Athletics!
